Welcome to my blog. I'm Max Alvarez. I'm from Buenos Aires in Argentina. I’m an extremely curious lifelong learner. Click on the link and you’ll find out more about me.

This blog is my place in cyberspace. It was the first visible part of my continuing professional development (CPD) e-portfolio. Now, it is steadily evolving into something more complex, comprehensive and enriching: my personal learning network (PLN).

So, here you’ll find mainly reflective pieces of writing in which there’s an attempt to make a relevant contribution to my PLN as I’m developing my own voice and persona in the blogosphere. This is an on-going collaborative process; that is, I’m being helped by those who interact with me by writing comments on my posts, sending me tweets, and so on.

At the same time, I’m helping others in their learning process by interacting with them. So basically, the entries and comments posted here might set off some ideas in you and help you improve your own PLN. In other words, these are the kind of resources you’ll find on this blog.

As you can easily notice, these resources reflect the informal nature of the kind of learning that takes place here. Thus, there’s no need for formalities. As long as you’re respectful, you’re invited to post your comments. If you click on the-subscribe-by-email link, I’ll reply to your comments. You could also try out the widgets on your left.

Last but not least, the second visible part of my CPD e-portfolio is here: English through ICT.

Labels

These are the main labels (tags) used on this blog:

In February 2012, I did an in-service teacher training course at Centro de Investigaciones e Innovaciones Educativas‘Alte. Brown’ (Programa Conectar Igualdad) in which I was asked to create this blog as an assignment (blogging as a way of keeping an e-portfolio). So all the entries that have something to do with that course have the label ‘CIIE Course: Netbooks as a resource in the English lesson (SE)’.

In January 2013, I decided to try out a MOOC and registered for #etmooc, a connectivist MOOC. So all the entries that have something to do with that course have the label ‘etmooc’.

In April 2013, I started an in-service teacher training course at Centro de Investigaciones e Innovaciones Educativas ‘Alte. Brown’ about global dimension in the English lesson at secondary school. So all the entries that have something to do with that course have the label 'CIIE Course: Global Dimension (SE)'.

Hope we enjoy this experience together.
